Nominee’s Achievement in the Field of Sales Lead Management:
Mary Dedrick has been a visionary business leader for 30 years and has been recognized for two consecutive years beginning in 2009 as “one of the 50 most influential people in sales lead management” by SLMA.  She has a proven track record of architecting and deploying innovative, results-oriented, practical solutions to a range of business- and systems-related challenges.  Mary’s keen ability to marry process and technology has been instrumental in driving Performark’s highly successful lead management and lead generation outsourcing solutions.

What sets Performark apart from many competitors under Mary’s leadership is its unique integration of people, process and discipline, resulting in sales and marketing alignment based on buyer-centered and management processes. At the heart of Performark’s approach is a firm commitment to data integrity, which Mary believes is a company’s greatest asset – regardless of the platform on which it operates – as well as sound business strategy.

“Any technology is only as good as the business strategy behind it,” she explains. “We are committed to providing full-service turnkey marketing automation services, including robust sales leads, to small and medium companies that want to do big things.”

Most recently, Mary was named President of Performark after joining the company eight years ago as Chief Information Officer.  She also served as Performark’s Chief Operating Officer for the three years prior to being named President. Mary oversees all aspects of operations, strategy and product development at Performark. She also drives the development of business partner relationships, including Nex Sales in India and U.S.-based Conversen.

With an impressive and diverse business background, Mary possesses the ability to synthesize all aspects of technology and business operations. She has forged a culture of “smart automation” at Performark that is at the core of the company’s unique Marketing Pipeline Management solution, which can be tailored to deliver maximum return while allowing sufficient flexibility to fit a specific client’s business priorities.

She has worked to ensure that all Performark solutions provide data consistency, accuracy and integrity. Mary also is responsible for Performark’s industry leading use of progression metrics, conversation dialogue strategies and database cleansing.

Her extensive business process background gives her a deep understanding of the technical implications of complex relationships. Beginning with her early work at a factory production operation in Iowa, Mary has explored all aspects of industrial automation and transferred this knowledge to use in programming logic and critical business processes.

“I think I was always rocking the boat,” Mary says with a laugh.

Her ability to see the bigger picture while attending to the process and operational details led Mary to increasing levels of management responsibility at a number of Fortune 1000 companies during her illustrious career, including positions at Baxter Travenol, Northrup King and Control Data. She also served as consulting practice manager at Computer Power Group.

Collaboration is another area where Mary excels. While at Northwest Airlines, Mary developed partnerships with other companies in China where she spent extensive time upgrading and automating operations for three Chinese airlines. The automation was based on a system she built at Northwest Airlines, which was recognized as a premier automation system in the early 1990s. In characteristic fashion, Mary also worked closely with the sales teams of these companies helping to automate their lead generation and selling processes.

Just prior to joining Performark, Mary was senior vice president of operations for Innuity, Inc., with responsibility for customer service and the call center as well as operations, business delivery and inside sales. Major clients included IBM and Media Metrix. She directed 300 employees in five locations throughout the U.S. Mary also conceived and orchestrated the design and delivery of a patent-pending production process for automated web site creation that contributed to 400 percent growth in three years.

Professional Boards:
He also has been actively involved in community education and served on a Minnesota state board to develop the curriculum for ongoing technology education offerings.

Community Involvement

Mary has a strong interest in youth and education. She has mentored at-risk youth and young adults in the early stages of their careers. Mary spearheaded a monthly volunteer event at the Crisis Nursery in Minneapolis in which Performark employees provide a meal (that they also prepare) to at-risk children. Under Mary’s leadership, employees are encouraged to volunteer up to 16 hours per year during company time.

As the mother of six, grandmother and a (yes, it’s hard to believe!) great grandmother, Mary also has found time to volunteer at various school events for her children and grandchildren.
